Partnering with Indigenous Digital Excellence (IDX), the Centre hosted the first Flint Facilitators training sessions, taking young ATSI talent through design, technology and innovation experiences to equip them with skills in basic circuitry, 3D printing and laser cutting. The program supports facilitators to return to their communities to pass on skills. Working with young people interested in digital technology from Dubbo, Gilgandra, Rockhampton, Gunblanya and Canteen Creek, the intensive workshop brings hands on learning to regional communities through workshops, access to equipment and educational resources.
MCIC would like to develop the relationship by providing “how to” videos for training in remote areas.
