Bede Moore studied Indonesian history at Harvard and Leiden University, receiving his MPhil (Hons) for his thesis on the relationship between the Republic of Indonesia and Australia during the Independence Period. Bede started his career at Boston Consulting Group and was a Senior Associate in the ANZ and Southeast Asian systems. He departed in 2012 to co-found Lazada Indonesia, Indonesia's largest eCommerce company, which was recently sold to the Chinese eCommerce company, Alibaba, and where he acted as Managing Director. In addition, in 2013, he co-founded the Indonesia fashion group and brand partner, Paraplou Group. He was the first foreign entrepreneur selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur for Indonesia. In late 2015 Bede returned to Australia to lead the expansion of, the world's largest online marketplace for student accommodation and a WIRED 100 company. In early 2016 he left to found Wayfinder. Bede is also the Founder and Chair of CAUSINDY (Conference for Australian and Indonesian Youth). CAUSINDY is a bilateral conference that promotes and supports young leaders in the two countries. In 2015, CAUSINDY was finalist in the NSW Government International Student awards. It is the premier bilateral forum for the next generation of the relationship’s leaders. Bede is also a member of the Vanguard Collective for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
